◆雰囲気の化石シリーズについて◆

磁器の本体に、色を着けて水でゆるめた磁土を施し、焼成しています。
磁土の流し方、塗り方、重ね方、また水の量や吸水のタイミング等によって、表情が違います。

私は、似たように見えるものごとでも必ずどこかに差異があり、
そのことはとても大切だと考えています。
たとえば一見代わり映えのしない自宅のリビングや、職場の自席からの景色。
いつもと同じものがあり、いつもと同じ人がいても、
時間帯や天気や気分、視線をどこに向けるかなどさまざまな要因によって、
都度、その時一回きりの雰囲気が醸し出されている中で過ごしていると思うのです。

このシリーズでは、そのような、意識すらしないうちに流れていく「雰囲気」を、
磁土の流れに写し、手に取って身に着けられる形にしてみました。
本来なら一瞬で消えて移ろうはずの「雰囲気」が、形を得て保存され、
美しい化石になったイメージで、「雰囲気の化石」と名づけました。

尚、作品によっては、ピンホール・剥落・皺のような、
一般的な陶芸の価値観においては「傷もの」とみなされがちな質感が表れていますが、
キノコフィアではそうした表情を含めて作品に必要な魅力と捉え、積極的に生かしています。
どれも制作時の一瞬の匙加減がもたらした表情です。お楽しみいただけると幸いです。

- 真鍮は経年に伴い色が変化します（十円玉のように）。

◆ About the “Atmospheric Fossil” Series ◆

In this series, I apply colored porcelain slip onto a porcelain base, and then fire it.
The way the slip is applied—whether poured, brushed, or layered—along with the amount of water and the timing of absorption, creates a unique expression in each piece.

I feel that even things that seem similar always contain subtle differences, and that those differences are important.
For example, the view from your living room or your desk at work may seem the same every day,
but depending on the time of day, the weather, your mood, or simply where you focus your gaze,
a unique and unrepeatable atmosphere appears each time.

In this series, I’ve tried to capture those fleeting, often unnoticed "atmospheres" through porcelain—
transforming them into tangible forms that can be held or worn.
I imagined that what would normally vanish in an instant could be given shape and preserved, like a beautiful fossil.
And so, I named this series “Atmospheric Fossil.”
